The armoire was one of the largest pieces of Sir Norton's custom bedroom furniture - and it had to be to store all of the coats, waist-coats, shirts, and other basic clothing of a nobleman in the 17th century.

At the top, convenient double doors opened wide to give access to a large upper compartment that was tall enough to allow all but his longest coats to hang without dragging their tails on the bottom. Bellow the doors, there were two large drawers which held Sir Norton's conservative and elegant waist-coats, while a shallow drawer held other personal items that would not fit inside the solid wood chest of drawers...
