Grandpa James was tall - tall and stately. Mother always said he could have been a governor or royalty or something. Grandpa James always had a pipe on the porch in the evening and he kept the tobacco and pipe in a little, wooden box in the uppermost left drawer of his chest of drawers.

Grandpa James's chest of drawers was just like him - tall and stately. When I was little, I used to be more afraid of that chest of drawers than I was of Grandpa James. Perhaps that's because the chest of drawers never held me on his knee and read me a story. Who knows?
